SOON WE’LL HAVE THE EURO AS OUR OFFICIAL CURRENCY

The Croatian Kuna Will Be Our National Currency Only for a Few More Days. The Euro Is Here

The end of this year will be marked by the discontinuation of our national currency. We will replace kunas with euros and lipas with cents. In order for all citizens in Croatia to be able to use the euro from 1 January 2023 without experiencing difficulties, numerous adjustments have been announced.

Although the Aircash App will be available throughout, each of our partners will have a certain period of time to adjust their system. We bring you detailed information about our partners’ services during this period.

Get enough cash on time

Keep in mind that most of the ATMs are already out of service, and during Saturday on December 31, most ATMs and POS machines will not work until at least midnight. In addition, each of our partners has a adjustment period of their system, and this also applies to our partner locations which will not work for a certain period or will not be able to make deposits or withdrawals from Aircash Wallet. So secure yourself with cash on time.

All kunas you deposit to Aircash until December 31 will be automatically converted into Euros on January 1 2023. The conversion will be performed according to the fixed conversion rate in accordance with the Act on the Introduction of the Euro as the Official Currency in the Republic of Croatia. The fixed conversion rate of kuna to euro is EUR 1.00 = HRK 7.53450.

Find out about Aircash application services during the period of switching to the Euro currency

We are working on making sure that the Aircash App stays available 24/7, but there is a possibility that you may be unable to log in for a brief period. It will last no longer than 5-10 minutes around midnight on New Year’s Eve, and we will try to make it even shorter.

Nevertheless, our partners may experience temporary delays in providing their services due to the adjustment of their systems to the euro. This means that this service may also be temporarily unavailable in the Aircash App.

While we can’t change that, we will make every effort to ensure that the issues are resolved as quickly as possible.

Deposit and payout from partners

Our partners will experience temporary downtime due to the adjustment of their systems to the Euro. This means that service will also be temporarily unavailable in the Aircash Marketplace, which is something we have no power over.
Downtime depends on the partner, and Aircash will make sure that as soon as the partner is active, service in the
Marketplace will be active too.
As of January 1, amounts for deposits and payouts will be in Euros, so please pay attention to that too.

Issuing A-bon vauchers within the Aircash application will work without interruption, but our partners may have temporary downtime in providing their service.
As of January 1 2023 A-bon vouchers denominations are in Euros: 5, 10, 20, 25 and 50 Euros.

To make sure you have a great customer experience with Aircash, we made sure you have our support even during New Year’s Eve. For all information you will need, send us an e-mail to [email protected].

Sending and Receiving Money

  • Sending money using the Aircash Wallet is still fast and user- friendly!
    • All the money you transfer to another Aircash user will be immediately available to them to use as they see fit. Keep in mind that any kuna in your Aircash Wallet will automatically be converted into euros from 1 January 2023, so you will be able to send and receive euros from that moment on.
  • Deposits Into Aircash
    • If you are depositing money into your Aircash at one of the points of sale of our Aircash partners, please remember that the codes generated before midnight will cease to be valid on 1 January at 00:00. After that, a new code will have to be generated, which will be in euros. As previously mentioned, our partners may experience temporary downtime due to the adjustment of their systems to the euro, which is something we have no power over. Here you can find the locations of all partners where you can deposit cash to your Aircash.
    • All bank account deposits will be made as before, and the amounts will be converted in accordance with the official conversion rate for each user in their Aircash Wallet. As a reminder, it is important to enter the following payment information when making a deposit: IBAN, model, and reference number.
    • If you top-up your Aircash Wallet with a bank card, there may be some issues due to the announcement by banks on limited availability of bank cards during the night between December 31 and January 1.
  • Withdrawals From Aircash Wallet
    • If you are withdrawing cash from your Aircash at one of the points of sale of our Aircash partners, you may encounter occasional interruptions due to the reduced amounts of cash in circulation. Here you can find the locations of all partners where you can withdraw cash from your Aircash Wallet.
    • All withdrawals and deposits to bank accounts will be performed in accordance with the official conversion rate for each user in their Aircash Wallet. As a reminder, it is essential to enter the correct IBAN when making a withdrawal.
    • Cash withdrawals at PBZ ATMs are still available, but keep in mind that the ATM network is being adapted to the euro, which is why a major of ATMs are out of order.

Paying Bills Using the Scan and Pay Option

You can pay bills as before, carefree and with one click!

Since the euro will be our national currency from 1 January 2023, if you pay your bills by 31 December 2022 at 23:59, your Aircash Wallet will be charged in kuna.

For bill payments after 1 January 2023, regardless of whether the amount on the bill is expressed in kuna, your Aircash Wallet will be charged the corresponding amount in euros.

Marketplace

Although the Aircash App will be available throughout, each of our partners will have a certain period of time to adjust their system. For this reason, this service will be unavailable within the Aircash App.

Aircash Mastercard Prepaid Card

You will be able to use your Aircash card without any interruption, but we have already mentioned that all systems are being adapted to the euro. That also includes the network of Croatian retailers, which is why interruptions in the operations of retailers and POS devices have been announced. This is why there will be periods when you will not be able to pay using your Aircash card at a retailer’s POS device in Croatia. However, online transactions at foreign online stores should carry on without issues.

All of the listed possible service interruptions depend on our partners. After the establishment of the partner system, the service will be immediately available in the Aircash App. We will do our best to make your experience with the Aircash App and card as smooth and seamless as possible.
