Leading Croatian fintech startup Aircash gains a new minority shareholder – Udo Müller
Austrian‑born Udo Müller has over 20 years of experience in the fintech industry. He completed mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Graz and an MBA in entrepreneurship at Danube University Krems.
From student to CEO
Over the past years, 48‑year‑old Udo Müller has been actively shaping the online payments industry. At just 25, he joined the then‑startup paysafecard. He remained with the Paysafe Group for nearly two decades, playing a key role in building paysafecard into a leading international player in the online payments sector. In 2014, he was appointed CEO of Paysafe’s eCash division, a position he held until 2022.
As a recognized figure in the global payments sector, Udo Müller will play a key role in Aircash’s ambitious growth strategy. In the coming years, he will oversee Aircash’s development and management teams, with a strong focus on enhancing product development and banking functionalities within the fintech sector.
His strategic vision includes expanding Aircash’s geographical presence, with a particular emphasis on Eastern Europe, Africa, and Latin America. This expansion will not only increase Aircash’s footprint but also support the company’s mission to make financial services more accessible in underserved regions.
Potential for a super‑app
In addition to these goals, Müller will also provide invaluable support for future M&A (mergers and acquisitions) initiatives as Aircash explores new opportunities and synergies in the fintech environment.
Expressing his excitement about joining Aircash, Udo Müller stated:
“For more than five years I have been closely following Aircash’s success and have developed a personal collaboration with Hrvoje. It is a great honor for me to be here, and I look forward to working with the Aircash team. With nearly two decades of experience in the fintech sector, especially as CEO of the eCash division at Paysafe, I have analyzed numerous companies and products. I firmly believe that Aircash has the potential to become a leading super‑app for financial services.”
Aircash CEO Hrvoje Ćosić commented on Müller’s arrival, saying:
“Udo’s extensive experience and strategic insight will be of great value to Aircash. Thanks to his expertise, Aircash is ready to achieve new milestones and further enhance the benefits and value we deliver to our users.”
Aircash remains committed to its growth strategy and is open to potential acquisitions that align with its mission and ambitious goals. The company aims to become a comprehensive super‑app for all types of payments, including money transfers, online shopping, entertainment, ticket purchasing, and bill payments.
