Aircash prepares for expansion into Slovenia, Austria, and Germany – novac.hr
Aircash is the fastest-growing Croatian fintech in the payments segment, with over 120,000 active users.

With the start of its expansion beyond Croatia, the domestic fintech startup Aircash has become a member of the leading EU digital payments association – EDPIA, founded by some of the largest European companies in the payments industry: Worldline, Ingenico, SIA, and Nets.

Fueling its rapid growth

Aircash is the fastest-growing Croatian fintech in the payments segment, with over 120,000 active users. It is a mobile payment app that enables sending and receiving money, bill payments, various deposits, and more. Unlike other domestic fintech players, Aircash is building a partner ecosystem on its app at the fastest pace, fueling its rapid growth.

Hrvoje Ćosić, co-founder and CEO of Aircash, says they are preparing to expand into the markets of Slovenia, Austria, and Germany, making them increasingly active not only locally but also at the European level.

“The goal of the EDPIA alliance is to create overarching EU policies for developing a unified digital payments market across the Union and to encourage the growth of innovative EU companies so they can compete globally with those from the US and China. Aircash will actively participate in working groups alongside other alliance members, as well as directly with representatives of the European Commission, to help create a quality environment for the development of new European fintech companies,” Ćosić emphasizes.

Potential partnerships

He notes that they regularly process more than five million kuna daily through the Aircash mobile app, which has ranked among the top three in its segment on the Play Store and App Store for months. Furthermore, he highlights that their team has grown to 20 employees.

“We have shown what is possible in the market, we cooperate with regulators and bring innovations, which has strengthened our reputation, so top professionals from retail and finance from Zaba and Ina have joined our team. But like everyone else, besides industry experts, we are mainly looking for developers – as many as ten in 2021,” says Ćosić.

He notes that they are facing a major turning point, both in terms of the market and development. The Aircash CEO highlights that at the end of the year, they are launching a major research and development project with FER, focusing on the use of artificial intelligence in fraud detection.

“We are preparing in every way for a breakthrough into markets of 100 million people, and we are currently exploring potential partnerships with retail locations in Slovenia, Austria, and Germany,” Ćosić concludes.
